Refractory block provides greater efficiency

Image

The photo above shows a pallet of refractory block (also called refractory brick or fire brick) for Gundersen Health System’s new Biomass Boiler.  Refractory block is used to line the inside of the firebox in the boiler. These blocks are made of special ceramic materials that are designed to withstand rapid changes in temperature without compromising their structural integrity. They are also able to withstand high temperatures within the boiler which approach 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit and have low thermal conductivity for greater boiler efficiency.
